This was my first drakengard game though and i kinda want to play the first too, it was crazy enough that i really wanna see how the other yoko taro games are A lot of questions i had about the game wouldn't be answered unless i read some novella online too, and that was a bummer considering how nier:a explained almost everything you needed to know in game I wish they'd explain more in game because since i borrowed the game i didn't want to bother buying the dlc, but it looks like the best parts of the plot are there :/. The game is funny, but it really didn't click with me like Nier: Automata did, the plot felt silly and most character i loved i just loved to hate(dito you sick lil bastard ) I've played this game for the first time recently so this topic is kinda convenientĬouldn't beat the final boss, got to almost the end of it then lost the last 2 notes in a 3double note string so i said "fuck it" I'm glad games like this exist, warts and all. I'm glad I stuck with it, and it doesn't seem like it's a very long game either, so maybe I will look into the DLC before moving on to Automata. It's a real change of pace coming off of the more somber Nier, one that I really didn't expect. The game seems to vacillate between horror and humor, seemingly on a whim. Yeah, the framerate sucks, but I can look past it. The story was batshit enough to keep me playing, and I think I'm going to finish this game now.īut what the hell am I playing? As far as I can tell I'm a genocidal freak that can regenerate my body and I also steal the disciples of my sisters (all of whom I am trying to kill). I considered quitting and just reading the LP before playing Automata, and then I defeated Five.

I started playing Drakengard 3, and after a few chapters found the gameplay to be kind of dull. I did all of the endings except the final one because I didn't feel like grinding through everything. Not being able to find a copy of Drakengard easily, I read the LP, and decided then and there I have to play Nier and Drakengard 3. People started gushing about Automata, and somehow I got interested in the weirdness of the whole series. Earlier in the year I ran across it in a Gamestop for under $20, and grabbed it in case it got really popular with the release of Automata. I knew that Nier was well regarded in some circles, but never got around to picking it up.

The videos will be pretty laid-back, with editing to minimize repetition in the most repetitive game of all time. There also may be guest commentators to shake things up, assuming I can rope certain individuals into watching this thing with me. Thread participation is present in that I would love input how how much or little editing I should use. But we’ll get to that.ĭeeArr how are you going to make Drakengard even remotely interesting to watch?Ĭonsider it a self-imposed challenge. For many years I honestly thought that Drakengard sprung from my imagination, until it became unexpectedly relevant many, many years later. It was also a key element of my childhood. It is a strange, dark pit of creative ideas and callous design.

The player fights swathes of enemies in vast, barren battlefields using steel, magic, and dragonfire. The original title of the game in Japan is Drag-On Dragoon. Drakengard is a hack-and-slash/dogfighting/hell videogame developed by Cavia and released in 2003 on the PlayStation 2.
